Dear John, Last year, the pro-life movement achieved a goal we'd pursued for almost 50 years. On June 24, 2022, Roe v. Wade was overturned. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's opinion stated: "The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives." I didn't think I'd see that day in my lifetime, but here we are. The authority to regulate is returned to the people and their elected representatives. Now it's our responsibility to end abortion. Part of that effort is in our daily lives as we embody our pro-life values. So, in commemoration of the Dobbs decision and our path toward an abortion-free society, we're inviting you to join us for Celebrate Life: A Week of Action. Celebrate Life will take place the week following Dobbs Day, and we'll have a theme each day of the week for pro-life activities. Here's the outline of the week:
I hope you'll join us in celebrating the end of Roe and building Oregon’s pro-life future together. Because everyone deserves an advocate, Lois Anderson P.S. We're also working on some new pro-life gear that will be released in time for Celebrate Life. I'm excited for it, and I think you will be too! |
