Hi friend,
This month, hundreds of environmentalists and climate activists from up and down the state came together to celebrate California Environmental Voters' 50th anniversary and celebrate leaders and innovators in the climate justice movement at our annual Badass in Green Awards.
After talking with so many of you at the event and hearing from our incredible honorees and speakers, I’m so fired up about the future of our movement. I’m also humbled by the impact of this organization over the last 50 years, and folks who have helped us — and who we’ve helped — along the way.
It was truly an evening of hope and inspiration as it is every year, friend — if you weren’t able to attend Friday, I sincerely hope you can make it next year to the “Enviro Oscars,” as our honoree Senator Lena Gonzalez dubbed it.
We’ve put together a short video showing some of the highlights of the Badass in Green Awards. Take a look → [link removed]
California has an outsized role to play to make sure we solve the climate crisis, friend. Because if it doesn't happen here, if we can't reach the goals we set, it will have global implications.
The foundation of how EnviroVoters has been able to push California to be an environmental leader for the past 50 years — including a monster year of climate action in 2022 — is partnership.
No wins happen alone. They happen in partnership with organizations, with elected champions, and with donors who fund this work. We are a part of a movement. We are not doing this alone.
I am so grateful to everyone who attended the event and to all our partners in the EnviroVoters community whose energy, passion, and commitment support our nonprofit mission to build the political power to solve the climate crisis, advance justice, and create a roadmap for global action.
It’s a tough fight, but the Badass in Green Awards only reinforced that it’s a fight we’re going to win. Check out some of our favorite moments from the “Enviro Oscars” → [link removed]
See you on the frontlines!
