Trump appointee Louis DeJoy is STILL head of the U.S. Postal Service, even
as his privatization plans threaten to destroy the USPS.
DeJoy was on Capitol Hill last week to answer questions about slow mail
service, his USPS privatization plan, and workers exposed to extreme
temperatures.^1 DeJoy “callously” said “we have what we have” when
responding to criticism over USPS employees working in a facility at below
freezing temperatures. He also rebuked the oversight work of postal
regulators for getting in the way of his privatization plan, which has
been a disaster for prices and service thus far.^2
DeJoy is a disaster and he has been ever since Trump appointed him. It’s
time for President Biden to get rid of DeJoy by nominating two new USPS
Governors who will vote to fire DeJoy!

DeJoy’s dangerous 10-year privatization plan for the United States Postal
Service remains a real threat to workers, consumers, and our entire postal
system.
The USPS is close to moving ahead with an algorithm-generated plan to
slash letter carrier pay and hours in rural America — cutting services to
some of the Americans who rely on the postal service the most.^3
Private companies won’t build offices in rural and remote areas because
it’s not profitable. That’s corporate greed, and that’s why the USPS is so
important. We must stop DeJoy. The power rests with President Biden and we
need him to take action.
DeJoy’s broader USPS privatization plan will inevitably raise prices even
more, crushing consumers who rely on the mail to send packages to loved
ones and small businesses who rely on the USPS for the core of their
operations.^4 It will also adversely impact rural and Indigenous
communities the most^5 — the USPS is a lifeline for so many communities.
We need President Biden to take the necessary steps to remove DeJoy and
save the Post Office.
