Yesterday, South Carolina Republicans in the state legislature passed a 6-week abortion ban that is sure to be signed once it arrives at the Governor’s office. 

This is an extreme law that the right-wing has been fighting to pass since Roe v. Wade was overturned last year — but was struck down by the state’s court. 

Whether or not the state’s supreme court strikes down this bill again, this extremist majority will continue to find ways to restrict abortion in the state —  going against the will of the people and pushing through harmful, invasive legislation like this one.

Women all over the country warned everyone that this would happen, and everyone said we were overreacting. Now if this new law comes into effect, virtually NO state in the south has access to safe and legal abortion. 

The only way to put an end to this madness is by electing more women and pro-choice candidates who will vote to make abortion legal at the federal level. It’s up to us to make that happen.
