We cannot afford to fall victim to MAGA hostage-taking. They want to slash jobs for over 100,000 K-12 teachers and cut healthcare to seniors and disabled children while we simply want our country to do what it has always done -- pay our debts. 

House Democrats have introduced a new tactic to get around Kevin McCarthy’s MAGA obstructionism -- The discharge petition.

The discharge petition would allow Democrats to bring a clean increase to the floor without going through the Speaker, but we need every Democrat plus 5 Republicans to sign on to achieve the votes necessary. 

That means we need to target the Unrepresentatives -- Republicans who currently represent districts won by Biden in 2020. Those Unrepresentatives have the most to lose if MAGA extremists force us to default. Their constituents were pragmatic enough to know that Biden was the only choice in the 2020 election; they will understand that each of those Republicans had a chance to pull us back from the edge and chose loyalty to party extremists over the needs of the American people. If they let us default, we will vote them out.
