Coalitions Member,
We hope this email finds you well and gearing up for a beautiful New Jersey summer! As part of our commitment to strengthening collaboration, we wanted to reach out about some of the recent events and meetings our Coalitions program held and make sure you’re informed of some of the exciting upcoming events taking place soon.

As always, the active participation and support of our Coalitions members has been instrumental in driving positive change in our state, and we look forward to continuing to work together to make New Jersey more equitable and accessible for everyone.

In celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month, NJDSC’s Jewish Caucus held a virtual meeting on May 16. The event fostered meaningful discussions on key issues, promoted unity and solidarity within the Jewish community and beyond, and brought together passionate individuals dedicated to honoring and advancing the rich heritage and contributions of Jewish Americans.

The NJDSC Veterans Caucus held a meeting on May 17, featuring a special guest speaker, Dr. Tina Shah, the former Special Assistant to the Secretary of the US Department of Veterans Affairs. The meeting allowed for meaningful discussions and strengthened the commitment of caucus members to advocate for the needs and rights of veterans in New Jersey.

On May 18, NJDSC celebrated AAPI Heritage Month with a celebration, thanks to the collective efforts of the South Asian American, AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander), Hindu, and Muslim Caucuses. The event was an opportunity to honor and celebrate the rich cultural heritage, contributions, and diversity of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. It was a memorable experience that highlighted the importance of coming together in solidarity, and the power of shared experiences.
