It’s been a busy month, but I wanted you to know what I’ve been working on…
John,
I’ve had a busy yet productive month. I wanted to make sure you knew what was happening in Washington and the district.
Here’s what I’ve been working on since the last newsletter.
Americans have lost faith in Congress because of our inability to work together, but me, Pat, and Wes have a deeper bond. We were classmates at West Point and we all served our nation. That connection is deeper and it transcends politics.
We’re using that bond to talk to each other, to try and find common ground, and to make important strides on veterans’ issues.
The Michigan congressional delegation met with Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall III to ensure Selfridge receives new fighter jets.
As of now, the Air Force plans to retire the A-10 Warthogs sometime in the next decade, which make up the majority of the Selfridge fleet.
Even though the Secretary made no promises about what jets are next for Selfridge, he was able to see the bipartisan delegation unified on this issue.
The Biden administration is pushing the Green New Deal before the infrastructure is in place to support their agenda. It’s concerning because the technology used in our smart phones and computers is likely coming from Uyghur slave labor or black slave labor in the Congo.
Black lives shouldn’t be crushed so Joe Biden can achieve his Green New Deal. In fact, we should be mining for these critical minerals here at home.
I voted to protect girls and women in sports because it’s a no-brainer. These athletes have worked so hard to get to where they are today – but now they’re being erased.
The radical Left thinks we should allow biological males to compete in women's sports because they feel like a woman. Not because they’re actually women, and it’s wrong.
I recently introduced the “No American Tax Dollars to the CCP Act” to prevent Chinese Communist Party-backed companies from receiving American tax credits. This bill is a step toward growing our economy while protecting our national security.
This bill, had it been law, would have prevented elected officials in Michigan from authorizing taxpayer dollars to subsidize a CCP-owned electric vehicle battery plant.
We don't need the CCP infiltrating our economy, and we definitely don't need them a short distance from Camp Grayling, where the Michigan National Guard is training the Taiwanese military.
It’s time to rebuild American manufacturing, energy, and agriculture, and that starts with placing limitations on the subsidies we hand out.
Be sure to stay up-to-date with all I’m accomplishing in Washington by liking my Facebook page and following me on Twitter and Instagram.
And keep an eye out for the next edition of Co-Pilot Comms!
Let’s Fly!
