john,
One year ago, the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas claimed the lives of 19 innocent children and two dedicated teachers. That horrific attack stunned the country and irreparably changed the fabric of our nation.
The loss of young lives, brimming with potential, and the heartache endured by their families and friends have left an indelible mark on all of us.
The memories of that day are still fresh in my mind. And the mass shootings that continue to happen in communities every day — as well as politicians who say there’s nothing we can do to stop this — fills me with a frustration that’s hard to put into words.
Too many of our communities have been devastated and families’ lives shattered. We can — we must — pass common-sense laws that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous individuals.
We owe it to the memory of those we lost and to the survivors who have endured unimaginable trauma to continue fighting for meaningful change.
I won’t stop fighting to end the gun violence crisis in America, not for one second. Our children deserve a future where their safety and well-being are prioritized over petty politics and campaign cash from the gun lobby.
I know you won’t stop fighting for change, either. Together we can forge a path toward safer communities and end the scourge of gun violence. So don’t give up, because we need you, and I’ll be right there with you in the fight.
— Tina
