Rallies *today* at InterContinental, Disney, and the FTC

On Monday management at the InterContinental on The Wharf informed workers that restaurant Moon Rabbit will close amidst a union organizing campaign. Hospitality workers union UNITE HERE Local 25 has called for a boycott of non-union hotels operated by the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG).

“Denying workers the ability to freely choose to be represented by a union is a drastic business choice,” Dyana Forester, Metro Washington Council president said in a statement. “The District made outsized investment in the Wharf and we want businesses that reflect DC values. I encourage the mayor and DC Council to consider what actions are appropriate in this situation.” Read the full statement »

Families are already struggling to put food on our tables. A merger between Albertsons and Kroger, the two largest grocery companies in the country, would lead to unprecedented price increases, lost jobs, and reduce competition — all while families are struggling to make ends meet.

A new national Stop the Merger coalition has formed with unions and community organizations. Join them today at 12:00pm to rally at the Federal Trade Commission (600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW). RSVP to [email protected].
