Dear Friend, Right now, Ethiopia is facing the worst drought in 40 years. This is a devastating situation for farming families like Fantaye’s who rely on the land for food and income. It’s not just drought that is having an impact. The ongoing effects of the conflict in the Tigray region and rising food prices with an inflation rate of over 30% is leaving millions of families at risk of hunger. Although famine has not yet been declared in East Africa, it is projected to occur in 2023. If we can see famine coming, we must do what we can to stop it. |
