Friend,

This Military Appreciation Month, I’ve been spending time reflecting on my
eternal gratitude toward all who have honorably served in our nation’s armed
forces. Because of these brave men and women, we can go to sleep every night
knowing that our families will be safe.

This month, we recognize everyone who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces. We
appreciate and admire their sacrifices and their service to this nation.

From the American Revolution to World War II to the present day, American
soldiers, guardians, sailors, airmen, marines, and the members of our Coast
Guard always answer the call to bravely defend the rights and privileges we are
afforded as Americans. Without them, the free country we know today would not
exist.

Growing up in Enterprise, Alabama, right outside the gates of Fort Rucker, I
witnessed firsthand the sacrifices made not only by our military men and women,
but also by the members of their families. Sitting next to classmates whose
parents were serving overseas, some of whom never made it back home, made the
true gravity of their service all the more real to me.

Our service members deserve nothing less than the best we can give them. As
Alabama’s Senator, I’m doing everything I can to not only ensure the U.S. can
maintain the strongest, most well-equipped, resourced, and trained military on
Earth, but also to ensure that the men and women who serve are treated like the
heroes they are when they return home.

This month, and every month, I encourage everyone to reflect on the sacrifice
of our military service members; those who put their lives on the line every
day to ensure that we can continue to live in peace. We may not know them all,
but we owe them all.

To the brave men & women fighting to keep our country safe, and their families:
from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Can you join me in thanking the brave men and women of our military for their
service?Sign our card to show your appreciation!
