Howdy John,
This past weekend, I joined Symone Sanders on MSNBC to discuss the recent election of Yemi Mobolade in Colorado Springs. Mayor-elect Mobolade will become Colorado Springs' first-ever Black mayor, and the first non-Republican mayor in a long time. This election proves that voters everywhere deserve choices.

At the local level, our elected offices are still dominated by Republicans. Democrats are still in the minority of County Commissioners, Election Officials, Sheriffs, and District Attorneys, among other local offices. With Lauren Boebert as the Republican standard bearer, we know that the GOP is only going to get even more extreme in 2024 as they try to hold onto their local majorities. We need to make sure that voters have a choice in their elections, no matter their zip code.
As Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party, I’ve made it one of our top priorities to elect Democrats and oust MAGA Republicans at the local level. The next frontier of Democratic politics in Colorado is local.

We want voters in small communities and rural counties to have a real choice.
