He’s got a vested interest in keeping his big ticket donors happy, no matter the environmental cost.

John,

Once again, Joe Manchin is poised to halt our clean energy progress, all because he wants to keep his big money oil and gas donors happy.

Earlier this month, Manchin promised to oppose every pending EPA nominee until the agency agrees to “halt their government overreach.”

Give us a break.

The agency isn’t “overreaching” on anything — they’re doing their job to ensure we stay on track to reach our carbon reduction goals. But because the EPA’s new power plant rule would hold coal companies (a huge presence in his home state) accountable for capturing their carbon emissions, Manchin is ready to stonewall our clean energy fight.

Well, that — and the fact that Manchin accepted nearly one million dollars from oil and gas companies in the 2022 election cycle — means he’s got a vested interest in keeping his big ticket donors happy, no matter the environmental cost.

Here at SEEC, we know that our people and our planet can and should always come before profits. That’s why Co-Chairs of SEEC’s Clean Energy Deployment Task Force, Reps. Sean Casten and Mike Levin, are fighting for across-the-board updates that make our power grid run cleaner and more efficiently.

But now that Manchin is running all the stops to put our clean energy fight in jeopardy, we need to make sure we’ve got the resources to keep the pedal to the metal and continue pushing forward in our climate fight. Will you support our critical work by making a quick donation right now so we don’t avoid total clean energy gridlock?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

$8 $20.23
$50 $100
$250 Other

Joe Manchin has been opposed to President Biden’s clean energy agenda since day one. From dragging his feet on the Inflation Reduction Act to his unwillingness to work with the EPA, he’s only making it easier for Republicans to derail our climate goals.

By pitching in a donation of just $8, you can ensure our SEEC Members have the power they need to move the needle forward in our environmental fight.

Thank you for fighting with us, John.
