This should go without saying, but Congress should not be run by folks craven enough to risk crashing the global economy to get one over on their political rivals.

House Republicans won't agree to raise the debt ceiling without making huge cuts to government programs that support working families and seniors. They've essentially hijacked the economy to force their political agenda, and time is running out to make a real deal.

Kevin McCarthy and 'Team Extreme' are literally playing chicken with the lives of the American people. If you're sick of the brinkmanship, help us win back a serious majority in Congress. Pitch in $3 to keep IL-17 blue.

Republicans talk a big game about “fiscal responsibility," and we're already hearing some Republicans whipping out old faithful -- calling Democrats "tax and spend liberals." Never mind that former president Trump added more to our national debt than any other president in history with his massive tax cuts for billionaires!

That is not what this is about.

Today's far-right is not afraid to drive us over the debt limit cliff and into economic freefall to score a cheap political win. Remember, these are the same folks Kevin McCarthy welcomed into his conference with open arms. Now, they're forcing him to choose between holding his Speakership or taking us into a default and tanking the economy.

We need to bring some sanity back to Congress, that means securing a House majority that will put the good of the country before partisan politics. Chip in $3 to make sure this seat doesn’t fall into the hands of MAGA extremists.
