Hi John,
On Wednesday, May 24, at 5:45 p.m. ET, members of the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), and labor allies will gather outside the Motion Picture Association to leaflet Disney’s lobby event for “The Little Mermaid,” which includes a moving screening.
Stand with the 11,500 members who write and produce the TV shows and films that entertain the world, and join us for an in-person leafleting opportunity to let attendees know that Disney, along with the other major studios, is refusing to negotiate a fair deal with the Writers Guild of America members. (We are not discouraging anyone from attending the event.)
WHERE: Motion Picture Association, corner of 16th and I streets NW, Washington, DC
WHEN: Wednesday, May 24, 5:45 p.m.–7 p.m.
RSVP: Click here
If you’re not able to attend in person but still want to support striking workers, sign our petition saying you support the writers on strike.
Like too many working people across our economy, as corporate profits grow, pay for writers is just not keeping up. Our union brothers, sisters and siblings are putting everything on the line, and we need to support them until they win the respect and treatment they deserve.
We hope to see you there!
In Solidarity,
Team AFL-CIO
