Last week, I opposed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs (MilCon-VA) House Appropriations bill. This disturbing bill that House Republicans passed out of the subcommittee fails to honor our responsibility to support our servicemembers, veterans, and their families.
Will you join me in condemning House Republicans for their FY 2024 MilCon-VA Appropriations bill that would cut funding for veterans’ health care and military construction?
If passed, this bill would slash veterans’ healthcare funding and gut billions of dollars from the Toxic Exposures Fund that was created by the bipartisan Honoring Our PACT Act. It would also make cuts to funding for military family housing and toxic chemical clean-ups, which would harm the quality of life of our military families.
John, our troops are defending our country. We cannot have them worrying about their family’s wellbeing. We must fulfill our responsibility to take care of our servicemembers, veterans, and military families.
