Dear Friend,

All of us at Rian Immigrant Center are thrilled at the appointment of Cristina Aguilera Sandoval and Ronnie Millar to the Commonwealth’s Office for Refugees and Immigrants (ORI)

Cristina, former Executive Director of the Massachusetts Immigrant Collaborative, and Ronnie, former Executive Director of Rian Immigrant Center, have been pivotal members of our team, and their leadership roles within ORI will undoubtedly strengthen the support and resources available to immigrant and refugee communities in Massachusetts.

Governor Maura Healey, Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll, and Secretary Kate Walsh have made excellent choices in selecting these individuals, recognizing their dedication to the rights and well-being of immigrants and refugees. Their appointments come at a crucial time as Massachusetts prepares for the implementation of the Work & Family Mobility Act, requiring leaders who can navigate these challenges with compassion and expertise.

The appointments of Cristina Aguilera Sandoval, Ronnie Millar, and Susan Church signal a strong commitment from the Massachusetts government to prioritize the well-being and inclusion of immigrant and refugee communities. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact they will make in their respective roles and the continued progress in building a more welcoming and supportive environment for all residents of the Commonwealth.
