NIJ seeks proposals for rigorous research and evaluation projects that inform our understanding of the impact of culture and climate on the ability of correctional agencies to achieve their missions. Proposals should address:
- Strategies to maintain a safe, humane, and secure environment for both correctional staff and incarcerated individuals.
- Staff recruitment and retention.
- Promoting and sustaining changes in organizational cultures, operations, and programs to better achieve correctional missions.
Applications will be submitted in a two-step process, each step with its own deadline:
- Submit an SF-424 and an SF-LLL in Grants.gov.
Grants.gov Deadline: August 7, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. ET
- Submit the full application, including attachments, in JustGrants.
JustGrants Deadline: August 21, 2023, at 8:59 p.m. ET
Applicants must register with Grants.gov and JustGrants prior to submitting an application.

- Budget Web-Based Form (The web-based form includes the budget details and the budget narrative.)
- Curricula Vitae/Resumes for Key Personnel (For purposes of this solicitation, ?key personnel? means the principal investigator and all co-principal investigators.)
