John,

Last week in Pennsylvania, our longtime ally Sara Innamorato won the Democratic nomination for Allegheny County Executive. This is a huge victory that will help set the tone for a national clean energy transition!

Sara’s victory shows that bold progressive candidates who serve the people, not profit, will win — even in places like Allegheny County where, historically, corporate polluters have dominated the political landscape.

People-powered, grassroots efforts made this victory possible. Food & Water Action volunteers and organizers supported Sara’s campaign by:

✉️ Mailing 1,600 handwritten letters
👟 Knocking on 41,000 doors
đź’¬ Having 9,000 conversations

Sara will face her Republican opponent in November but is likely to become the next County Executive, thanks to the region’s strong Democratic base. We’re excited to continue supporting Sara as she bans fracking in Allegheny County and fights for a brighter, greener future for all County residents. We’re also excited that Sara’s administration will be able to expand early voting in the largest Democratic county!

Help us support candidates like Sara and a fracking-free future!

Now that the Pennsylvania race is over, Food & Water Action staff are busy planning our strategy and organizing volunteers so we can drive voters to elect more climate champions like Sara in 2024.

As we look ahead to a critical election year, the presidency will be on the line, as will control of Congress. Only with your support will we build the necessary power to win races across the country and pass ambitious climate legislation.

Join us as we gear up for 2024 by making a gift to Food & Water Action today. Together, we can make more election victories possible!
