“That’s the history of racism and colonialism ー to break us apart and split us up and pit us against each other. To stand in solidarity with intention is to refute white supremacy, to refute the ways that they’ve tried to colonize us in our minds about ourselves and each other.” - Mike Ishii, Senior Organizer at Tsuru for Solidarity

Friend, May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, when we celebrate the vast diversity of the AANHPI community and recognize their contributions to the cultural fabric of our country.

It’s also a time for us to stand in solidarity — to join leaders and advocates across the country who are fighting to protect AANHPI lives and stop hate in all its forms.

Together, we must fight back against the rise in hate and violence toward AANHPI people in this country. Our collective responsibility is to create a safe, equitable, and inclusive country where everyone can live free from fear. We must unite against adversity and celebrate culture, community, purpose and belonging.

This AANHPI Heritage Month, NILC is standing alongside the organizations who work directly with AANHPI people and on the issues that impact those communities most — and we are asking for you to join us, friend. Please help us support their critical work by contributing below:

National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC):

     DONATE TO NAKASEC

NAKASEC is organizing Korean and Asian Americans to achieve social, economic, and racial justice.

Act to Change:

DONATE TO ACT TO CHANGE

Act to Change is working to address hate and bullying in AANHPI communities.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC):

         DONATE TO AAJC

AAJC is fighting for civil rights and empowering Asian Americans to create a more just America for all.

Thank you for joining us and our partner organizations in working to combat racism and advance racial justice for AANHPI people and all communities of color.

Your support provides more opportunities to come together and build solidarity, celebrate AANHPI heritage, and promote understanding and unity among all the communities that make this country great.

With gratitude,
