John, it's been almost a year since the Supreme Court issued its disastrous ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health overturning Roe v. Wade and setting off a chain reaction of onerous abortion bans across the country.
Now, we're awaiting the Court's decision in Merrill v. Milligan, which could have a similarly far-reaching impact on the future of voting rights:

For decades, the Voting Rights Act has helped make our county's democracy fairer and more representative. But the Supreme Court may soon decide to gut key provisions of the VRA — if that happens, it will seriously limit protections for voters of color across the country.
And with that in mind, we have two options:
(1) We can sit around and wait to see how the Court will rule.
(2) We can resolve to do everything we can to elect leaders who will protect voting rights — regardless of what SCOTUS does.
Our team at Voto Latino is taking the second option. We're working across the country to register and mobilize young people in battleground states so we can elect a new generation of leaders who will defend all of our rights, including the right to vote.
