The people of Wisconsin value hard work and, like most Americans, they see employment as a path to a prosperous life. Regrettably, for policies toward low income families, some actions of Governor Tony Evers have undermined this fundamental value. State leaders must refocus policies on employment to reinforce work as the surest pathway out of poverty.

** 'Sunrise review' would inform legislators about impact of proposed occupational licenses

Occupational licensing should not be viewed as a binary decision. There are other entirely appropriate consumer protection options that should be considered. A sunrise review can equip legislators with the necessary information to make these important decisions on behalf of Wisconsin workers and consumers.

** Legislature right to consider options to licensure
------------------------------------------------------------
Optional registration like the one included in this bill provides consumers with valuable information when hiring a public adjuster. It also allows in-state adjusters to choose for themselves - rather than be mandated by the state - whether they want to complete a registration or not. Registration for out-of-state adjusters will address concerns about unscrupulous providers coming into the state to take advantage of Wisconsin residents following a natural disaster.
