What a week! Between the Iowa caucuses, the State of the Union, and
impeachment, the news this week has been non-stop. So with that, let's
get down to business with some things you may have missed. President
Trump's approval rating has moved in a surprising direction. Missouri
State Auditor Nicole Galloway is still facing serious ethical questions.
And Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who delivered the Democrats' State
of the Union Response is getting hammered for her "Plan B" to fix the
state's roads. Read below for more!

Trump Job Approval Rises To Personal Best

What Happened:

At the height of the impeachment trial, President Trump's job approval
rating rose to a personal best since taking office - thanks to rising
numbers among both Republicans and Independents.

Why You Should Care:

The poll, released by Gallup this week, indicates the Democrats'
impeachment mission may have actually helped the president rather than
hurt him going into 2020. As Fox News' Chris Wallace put it, "...I
think you'd have to say that Donald Trump is better off now than he
was when the impeachment process began."

What Happens Next:

Presumably, Democrats continue to...hate President Trump, while he
continues to focus on things Americans care about: strengthening our
military, foreign trade, and the economy.

Nicole Galloway's Ethics Issues Aren't Going Away

What Happened:

A major editorial board in Galloway's state of Missouri wrote that
"legitimate questions" have been raised about her supposed impartiality
as state auditor. The allegations, in fact, could cause her reputation
to "dissolve quickly."

Why You Should Care:

To recap: Galloway, who's running for governor as a Democrat,
allegedly used her taxpayer-funded officer to try and dig up dirt on
Republican Sen. Josh Hawley. Not a great use of government resources...

What Happens Next:

State legislators are considering additional investigations into the
allegations against Galloway.

Whitmer's Redo: New Plan to "Fix The Damn Roads" Doesn't Actually
Fix A Majority of Roads in Michigan

What Happened:

So far, Democrat Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has failed miserably
on her promise to "fix the damn roads." Her newest plan, however,
isn't sitting well with legislators and transportation officials.

Why You Should Care:

Whitmer's new plan involves borrowing $3.5 billion, without
legislative approval, to make infrastructure repairs that experts say
would do little to fix a majority of roads. It's already been
criticized for being a "foolish" plan that amounts to "simply taking out
a loan and passing it on to our children."

What Happens Next:

Michiganders continue to suffer with crumbling roads, while Whitmer goes
back to the drawing board.
