I’m hoping for a minute of your day to explain all that’s going on right
now.
Just days ago, Kevin McCarthy’s ally, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida,
filed a motion to expel me from Congress.
It was a new low, even for these extremists. And another dangerous
escalation of efforts to silence critics of the MAGA crowd.
It’s just the latest move to try to exact political payback on me for
holding Trump accountable.
First, Kevin McCarthy removed me from the House Intelligence Committee.
Then, he told a crowd of his supporters that I must “never” be a U.S.
Senator. And now, one of his allies is trying to expel me from Congress
entirely.
All because I had the audacity to stand up to Trump when they lacked the
courage.
But if they thought this would get me to back down,
John, they’re sorely mistaken.
I’m not going to back down from protecting the rule of law.
I’m not going to back down on defending our democracy.
I’m not going to back down on holding Donald Trump and his MAGA enablers
accountable.
Not now. Not ever.
The stakes of our race are too high to back down — so I hope you won’t
