former educator in Congress who has been an outspoken advocate on climate, gun
violence, and healthcare reform. He is currently being targeted by Marjorie
Taylor Greene and MAGA Republicans for exposing their extremism.

Hey, it’s
Congressman Jamaal Bowman. I just want to make one thing clear:

In her press conference in front of countless reporters Marjorie Taylor
Greene said something incredibly dangerous — calling me “aggressive” and
saying she feels “threatened” by me.

Representative Greene wasn’t even using a dog whistle — it was a bullhorn,
putting a racist target on my back to her MAGA supporters. It echoes what
happened with Emmett Till and with Mike Brown, and unfortunately this
country has a history of characterizing Black men who are outspoken, who
stand their ground, or who push back as being “threatening” or
“intimidating.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene is a white supremacist. Describing somebody’s
beliefs – which are clear for everybody to see — isn’t “like calling a
person of color the n word,” no matter what false equivalencies she might
draw.

This behavior is dangerous and reckless — but we can’t let it stop our
movement for progressive change.
