Tell Texas House to Pass Bill, SB 163 to Make Sex Education Opt-In!

The bill that would change sex education in public schools to an Opt-in system is on the Texas House Floor for a vote TODAY! The old system required that parents had to actively sign a form in order to not have their child receive human sexuality instruction at school. 

Last session, the Texas legislature successfully passed a law that would require the school to get permission from the parent before teaching a child sex education. This law was implemented across the state, but it had one problem – it had an expiration date. It will expire soon and we will be back to the old system that fails to empower parental decision-making regarding a child’s sex education.

We need to pass SB 163 so that the Opt-in system for sex education becomes permanent in state law. 

Please let your state house representative know that you want them to pass SB 163!
