Ohio Governor Mike DeWine Week in Review

On *Monday, *Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that he was awarding more than $2 million in grant funding to support local law enforcement in their work to disrupt the drug trade in Ohio and enhance their role in substance use awareness, prevention, and recovery.

Also on *Monday*, First Lady Fran DeWine visited Lawrence, Gallia, and Meigs counties to launch the Ohio Governor's Imagination Library Program.

On *Tuesday*, Lt. Governor Jon Husted traveled to Marietta, Ohio to announce that the new BMV Get in Line, Online system has been expanded to their area. Get in Line, Online is a system that drastically reduces the amount of time Ohioans spendwaiting at the BMV by allowing them to check in online and begin progressing through the line before even arriving at the BMV. Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted originally began the system as a pilot project in 2019, and through InnovateOhios efforts, it has now been expanded to 26 locations statewide, and counting.
Children's Services Transformation Advisory Council Initial Findings Report
On *Wednesday*, GovernorDeWine released the Childrens Services Transformation Advisory Councils Initial Findings Report [ [link removed] ]. This report summarizes the states efforts regarding foster care reform since Governor DeWine took office, along with common themes the council heard during their recent forums held throughout the state.
Also on *Wednesday*, Lt. Governor Husted delivered the keynote address to the Dayton Development Coalition Annual Meeting and Economic Review. He discussed the strength of the Miami Valleys economy as well as the programs being managed through the Governors Office of Workforce Transformation that are working to create greater opportunity for Ohioans and Ohio businesses.

On *Thursday,*Governor DeWine gave remarks at the grand opening of the Facebook-New Albany Data Center.

Also on *Thursday*, Lt. Governor Husted traveled to Washington D.C. where he attended the National Prayer Breakfast with President Donald J. Trump. Following the event, the Lt. Governor attended a meeting at the White House to discuss regulatory reform efforts in Ohio and how the federal government can compliment that work to make it easier to do business and create jobs.

Sherwin-Williams announced on *Thursday* that it will build a new headquarters in downtown Cleveland and R&D Center in Brecksville, building on its 154-year history in the region. The state of Ohio and its regional and local economic development partners worked together to keep one of Ohio's leading companies in the Ohio.
Governor DeWine will be this spring's commencement speaker for Miami University, his alma mater. Governor DeWine earned his bachelor's degree in education from Miami University. The school's ceremony is scheduled for May 16 at Yager Stadium in Oxford, Ohio.
