Friend, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is unlike anything the U.S. has ever passed.

The $369 billion climate investment will help reduce air pollution, prevent wildfires, improve water conditions in underserved communities, spur clean energy investments, create green jobs, and so much more.

We’re hosting a Town Hall THIS WEDNESDAY with our LCV partners in Oregon and Washington all about the investments and implementations of the IRA as well as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.

We’ll be talking with policy experts to learn how President Biden's Clean Energy Plan is going to address the climate crisis and save you money in the process. If you haven’t already, please RSVP, friend?

What: Virtual Town Hall on the IRA’s cost-saving benefits
When: Wednesday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Zoom

Subject: Here’s how YOU can benefit from the Inflation Reduction Act

Hi friend,

Last year, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) into law. At $369 billion over 10 years, the IRA represents the single largest investment in fighting the climate crisis the U.S. has ever made.

This is an opportunity to radically meet our climate goals, but only if the projects and funding are implemented in a way that ensures justice and equity in underinvested areas.

That’s why the IRA will be among the discussion topics at our next virtual Town Hall!

One week from today on May 24, experts from EnviroVoters alongside the Oregon League of Conservation Voters and Washington Conservation Action will discuss President Biden's Clean Energy Plan, which includes the funding for programs in the IRA and the IIJA (AKA the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill). There will also be a special message from the Governors of Oregon and Washington.

Can you make it, friend? The Zoom Town Hall starts at 6:00 p.m. next Wednesday, May 24 → [link removed]

This Town Hall is a great chance for environmental voters like you to learn about these historic bills, get an update on their implementation, and engage with climate leaders from not only California but also our neighbor states to the north.

The IRA is the kind of transformative commitment necessary to completely change our economy and infrastructure the way that science tells us we have to in time to prevent the worst of the climate crisis.

However, we must defend it from GOP threats to cut funding preemptively. And we must make sure that county and city governments apply for funding through state agencies and that their projects support and benefit marginalized and underinvested communities.

So join us Wednesday, May 24 on Zoom to answer every question you’ve ever had about this unprecedented federal climate investment → [link removed]

Next week’s Town Hall is part of our monthly Town Hall series where we talk climate with California’s congressional delegation and other elected officials and thought leaders. Watch the highlights of our conversation with Congressman Mike Levin last month here → [link removed]

Thanks and see you next Wednesday!
