Since the beginning of 2023, actions have been taken to prevent access to medication abortions (the abortion pill mifepristone), as well as rolling back the allowed timeframes for an abortion. TRAP laws that were already in place have been overtaken by total bans or laws without exceptions for rape or incest.

- Nebraska’s legislature passed a 12-week ban on Friday, which includes no exceptions for fetal anomalies or non-viable pregnancies. It also requires three in-person visits to obtain a medication abortion.
- North Carolina passed a 12-week ban despite an initial veto by the Governor. They are now considering a 6-week ban.
- Ron DeSantis signed a 6-week ban into law (a timeframe that is often BEFORE a woman finds out that she is pregnant.)
This is all led by the GOP and their "pro-life" crusade.
No exceptions for rape or incest.
Women are waiting until they go into sepsis to receive care.
Doctors are afraid of offering treatment.
Children are being forced to carry a pregnancy to term.
