The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) used to take pride in being able to uphold and enforce American criminal law while protecting our nation from threats abroad. It is clear now more than ever that the FBI has been weaponized into a politically-fueled regime, targeting those who stand up against the Deep State's agenda.
Over the past few months, FBI whistleblowers have raised alarming concerns about the impartiality and trustworthiness of this institution. The consequences of this erosion of trust have been dire, with ordinary Americans and even the FBI's own agents finding themselves targeted for simply upholding their values and beliefs. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, I have dedicated my efforts in Congress over the past several months to giving a voice to those patriotic individuals who have valiantly stood up against the corruption within the FBI. If the FBI will exile and attack their own agents for speaking up, imagine what they're willing to do to regular Americans. The cancer that's festering within the FBI has grown out of control, and it must be eradicated before it's too late.

On Thursday morning of last week, the Weaponization Subcommittee held a press conference that exposed the deep-rooted rot that has infiltrated Joe Biden's FBI. The revelations that were uncovered during this event were nothing short of shocking, painting a vivid picture of an agency willing to go to great lengths to crush anyone who dares to challenge their authority. The footage of FBI whistleblower depositions I presented during the press conference, unveiled abuses of power, politically motivated investigations, and a blatant disregard for constitutional rights. Many members of Congress believe these revelations exemplify the urgent need for a thorough and impartial investigation into the FBI's practices — I believe it's time to defund the FBI's D.C. Field Office and the salaries of those who are responsible for the agency's downfall. By doing this, we can ensure the FBI will be once again committed to its original purpose of upholding the law and protecting the American people.

Later that morning, I attended a House Judiciary Committee hearing, where the American people were told the truth about the FBI — by FBI whistleblowers. The FBI D.C. Field Office confirmed that officers, confidential informants, and FBI assets were present at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, despite FBI Director Christopher Wray testifying to the contrary. Wray took an oath to defend Americans, but instead, he helped create one the most corrupt agencies ever.

I ended the day by going on Fox News to discuss the FBI targeting everyone from President Trump to their own agents who have blown the whistle on the weaponization of the FBI. With Congress wielding the power of the purse, our focus must be on disarming and defunding the authorities that have been turned against the people. I have consistently advocated for the removal of the FBI headquarters from Washington, D.C., as it is the epicenter of corruption. There are still good men and women in the FBI whose task and purpose are to defend our country, but the FBI's weaponized Washington Field Office is rotten to the core, and must be reformed immediately.

In the midst of uncovering the FBI's abuse of power and in stark contrast, I am reminded of the men and women in blue who serve our nation with great honor and integrity every day. As National Police Week comes to an end, we must not forget the unwavering dedication and sacrifices our police officers make to ensure the safety of our communities.
While it's crucial we express our deepest gratitude to those who serve within our local law enforcement departments, we must also remember the sacrifices of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Recognizing the invaluable work of our heroes who were brave enough to make the ultimate sacrifice is of utmost importance. Their selflessness and commitment to upholding the law should serve as an inspiration to us all.
REPS. GAETZ AND MOSKOWITZ INTRODUCE BIPARTISAN LEGISLATION
Last Tuesday, I introduced bipartisan legislation to prevent the closure of national cemeteries if a debt ceiling agreement is not reached in time. The bill, which is co-sponsored by Democrat Rep. Jared Moskowitz (FL-23), would ensure that all national cemeteries will continue to operate if the national debt ceiling is breached or if there is a lapse in appropriations.
It is imperative that we do not deny veterans, Gold Star families, military families, and all Americans the invaluable opportunity to visit the hallowed grounds of our fallen war heroes due to the ongoing debt ceiling negotiations. The preservation of our national cemeteries is paramount, as they serve as sacred spaces for remembrance, reflection, and profound gratitude. I am deeply appreciative that my Democrat colleague Rep. Jared Moskowitz has joined me in my unwavering commitment to keeping our national cemeteries open, irrespective of the ongoing debt ceiling debate between Congress and the White House.

NAS PENSACOLA HOLDS FIRST BLUE ANGELS PRACTICE SINCE REOPENING
Last week, my team was proud to attend the first Blue Angels practice at NAS Pensacola following the installation's reopening to the public. It was a spectacular performance in typical Blue Angel style! I'm eager to begin welcoming guests from across Northwest Florida and the U.S. to admire the natural beauty of our region and our iconic state treasures such as the Blue Angels and National Naval Aviation Museum.
