Most folks don’t know this about me, but in high school, I was a state- and national-level grammar competition champion.

The glory has mostly faded thirty-something years later, but I do know how to wield a red correction pen like nobody else (just ask my daughter how carefully I proof-read her homework!).

Now, when I see yet another GOP policy that’s completely out of step with the majority of Virginians, I get the urge to cross out all of their cruel, dangerous, and anti-democratic ideas in bright red ink.

It’s unlikely that they’ll abide by my corrections, so our only avenue to combat the far-right’s anti-democratic agenda is to defeat it at the ballot box this November.
