Dear John,
The clean car revolution is about to shift into the next gear! The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed new multi-pollutant emission standards for passenger cars and trucks and medium-duty vehicles! If approved, these standards would help ensure that at least two-thirds of all new passenger vehicles are zero-emission by 2032 — tackling CO2, lethal particulate matter and smog-forming NOx pollution!
But that’s not all, it also helps ensure that at least 40% of medium-duty vehicles — such as cargo vans — are zero-emission. This is a huge opportunity to slash tailpipe-pollution from millions of vehicles!
To adopt the most protective rule possible, EPA needs to hear from dedicated activists like you. Submit a public comment and show your support for clean cars! [link removed]
By filling our roadways with clean, zero-emission vehicles, the U.S. will be ready to tackle our largest source of climate pollution. Here’s a fact, the transportation sector is the number one contributor to U.S. climate emissions — accounting for 27% of our GHG footprint!
And of that, passenger cars and trucks are a huge contributor. In fact, passenger cars and trucks are responsible for 57% of the transportation sector’s total climate emissions. That’s why we’re so excited for EPA’s latest proposal!
EPA estimates that these new standards would cut over 7 billion metric tons of climate pollution from 2027 through 2055 and would also significantly reduce other deadly pollution! And thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act’s historic investment in electric vehicle manufacturing, we’ll have the technology to keep the pace — allowing the U.S. to reach a 100% new zero-emission vehicle target by 2035.
Let’s continue to shift America’s clean car revolution into gear! Help the EPA to take the next step, by setting protective emissions standards for our cars, vans and SUVs. Submit a public comment, today! [link removed]
