Last night, with 100% of precincts reporting, we won the Iowa Caucuses. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Tonight, I’ll take the debate stage for the last time before the New Hampshire primary. With your help, I’ve participated in every debate so far and in just about four days, Granite Staters will begin voting for the Democratic candidate of their choice. Right now we are at a make-or-break moment in history; America is missing a sense of unity and decency from the highest office of the land. Despite that, I’ve witnessed innumerable acts of kindness and compassion on the trail. I’ve seen Americans from all over the country working together to help their neighbors, family, and loved ones any way they can.
These acts of hope make me confident this will be the year we leave Donald Trump behind.
Our politics don’t work for most Americans -- they work for corporations and the wealthiest and take advantage of the most vulnerable populations. And they just don't represent the values of the American people. We’re ready to act boldly on climate change, common-sense gun laws, and increasing wages, but our leader either can’t or won’t.
Since I announced my candidacy, I’ve made it my mission to change the lives of all Americans for the better. One job should be enough, and no one should be afraid for their future as a result of climate change. We need to enact common-sense policies, but we can’t do that without your support. The race in New Hampshire is going to be extremely close. We’re the underdog and we need to push these last few days to make sure our campaign’s message reaches every voter, whether that be through ads, emails, texts, or volunteers knocking on doors -- every effort counts and is an investment in the future of our nation.
We can do this in New Hampshire. Our campaign has made it this far, against all odds, and I know we can win if we work together.
I am hopeful that the next few months will confirm what we’re seeing on the ground -- Americans are hungry for a new politics that rallies us together. Because that’s how we’ll beat this president, build a politics based on belonging, boldness, and action, and finally meet the challenges of our time.
