Majestic birds strut across sagebrush plains -- suddenly they SCATTER as a massive metallic rig JETS HIGH-PRESSURE WATER and SAND into the ground! It shakes the Earth and screeches through the morning air. Take action to PROTECT public lands!
The iconic Greater sage-grouse relies on these sagebrush plains for the most important time of its life, Friend. Here, male sage-grouses perform unique courtship displays, dancing and clucking away to grab the attention of a mate and give way to a new generation. But fracking is DESTROYING this critical habitat and SHRINKING the sagebrush plains, driving sage-grouse to the brink.
Fracking threatens us too. People living near fracking can face increased risk of cardiac problems, birth defects, and other health issues. The process also produces nausea-inducing odors that can trigger splitting headaches.
But the Department of Interior is about to lease land to greedy companies eager to FRACK in and around our communities and sage-grouse habitat. This is your LAST CHANCE to stop the lease sale before it’s approved and a greedy polluter SCARS our public lands. STOP fracking in this critical wildlife habitat and surrounding public lands before it’s too late!
There’s more to the dangers of fracking, Friend. Its wastewater can sometimes contain RADIOACTIVE WASTE and could contaminate local drinking water. Sometimes fracking can even trigger earthquakes.
So much is at risk, Friend. Our public lands, nearby communities, threatened wildlife, and our entire planet. But the DOI is moving forward anyway. YOU CAN CHANGE THAT, but we need you to act now! We need 4,198 more people to send a message to the Department of Interior to reach our goal and help PROTECT people, public lands, and wildlife from fracking! Please, Friend, add your name by 11:59pm TONIGHT!
Standing with you,
Nicole Ghio
