Here’s what this week in #nvleg will look like (so far)... |
Hi Friend, This week begins what many of us lovingly call the endgame portion of the Legislative Session – when the five big budget bills legislators are constitutionally mandated to work on and (generally) a time when anything can happen. From now on, most things will be happening during floor sessions and money committees and schedules for everything will be ever-changing. We also have a deadline this Friday for bills to make it through their second house passage. There’s going to be a lot to do in the next few weeks, so read ahead to see how you can help! As you may already know, Governor Lombardo decided to side with the extremists of his party base instead of the public safety of Nevadans by vetoing a gun violence prevention bill like SB171. This bill would prevent Nevadans convicted of a hate crime from purchasing a firearm for up to ten years. Click here to call your Nevada State Senator and tell them to overturn Gov. Lombardo's veto on SB171!
