FBI Utilized Warrantless Search Authority More Than 278,000 Times in 2021

Fox News: The FBI improperly used warrantless search powers against U.S. citizens more than 278,000 times in the year ending November 2021, according to an unsealed Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) filing. U.S. citizens covered in that improper effort included people involved in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021; George Floyd protesters during the summer of 2020; and donors to a failed congressional candidate, the filing said. Section 702 of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) allows the government to conduct targeted surveillance of non-U.S. persons located abroad to acquire foreign intelligence information. When U.S. citizens are flagged as part of these investigations, the FBI takes over the process of querying them for possible security reasons (Fox News). Kevin McCullough: It also does not include the 3,400,000 times the FBI searched citizens’ data without warrants. That’s 9,315 per day, 388 per hour, and 6.5 per minute. The same agency we now know tipped off that Hillary Clinton was colluding with Russia to frame Donald Trump and did nothing about it. The same agency that lied to the FISA court to extend search warrants to surveil people that were later vindicated and cleared. The same agency that allowed agents to conduct extra-marital relationships (an action that violates the FBI code of conduct) and feverishly work to remove a lawfully elected President. The same agency that has held the Hunter Biden laptop in its possession has chosen to do zero in enforcement (Townhall).

McCarthy Says the White House Cannot Find Any Superfluous Spending
Townhall: President Joe Biden announced that he would talk with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy over the phone. Before departing Hiroshima, Biden told reporters that he was “hoping Speaker McCarthy is just waiting to negotiate with me,” suggesting that he would invoke the 14th Amendment to raise the debt ceiling if needed. However, experts warn this would not hold up in court. McCarthy lashed out at Biden saying that he was nothing but a puppet for Democrats who control things behind the scenes. The Republican insisted that the Dem-controlled White House is moving backward with negotiations, saying that Washington is sitting on $60 billion in unspent COVID funds, despite the pandemic being over (Townhall). Kevin McCarthy: President Biden doesn’t think there is a single dollar of savings to be found in the federal government’s budget. He’d rather be the first president in history to default on the debt than to risk upsetting the radical socialists who are calling the shots for Democrats right now (Twitter).

GOP Lawmakers Blast Biden, Dept. of Agriculture for Proposal of a Chocolate Milk Ban in Schools
Washington Examiner: Earlier this year, the Department of Agriculture proposed new nutrition requirements for school lunches, including a proposal that would curb the ability of participating schools to serve chocolate milk and other flavored milk products out of concerns over high sugar content (Washington Examiner). Fox News: U.S. Reps. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., Glenn Thompson, R-Penn., and Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., are blasting the Biden administration and the USDA for proposing to ban chocolate milk for elementary and middle school students. (Stefanik) claimed, “Now, Joe Biden is embracing this Far Left radical proposal to ban chocolate milk. This is totally unacceptable, and I will do everything in my power to stop these efforts. Flavored milk is one the best ways for kids to get essential dairy nutrients for growth and development.” Thompson, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, claimed, “First it was your gas stove, and now it is your child’s school meal. President Biden’s proposal to ban chocolate milk is another example of brazen government overreach.” And Foxx blasted the proposal, saying, “The Biden administration believes that the federal government knows best in everything. As a result, we continue to see this administration impose top-down regulations that do more harm than good” (Fox News).

Daniel Penny Speaks Out for First Time Since DA Alvin Bragg Charges Him After He Defended Others, Himself on a Subway
Townhall: Daniel Penny, the Marine veteran unfairly charged by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s office, speaks out for the first time after putting a homeless man in a fatal chokehold. Penny said that the incident which killed Jordan Neely had nothing to do with race — but everything to do with a broken system “that so desperately failed us.” “This had nothing to do with race,” Penny said. “I judge a person based on their character. I’m not a white supremacist.” The former Marine said he was deeply saddened by the tragic incident but insisted he had every right to protect himself and others on the subway that day (Townhall). New York Post: The confrontation on the train began after Neely allegedly began yelling at other straphangers and throwing trash. Penny said he could not go into detail about the events that then transpired because of his pending case, but he indicated it wasn’t like “anything I’d experienced before” (New York Post).

Sen. John Thune Set to Endorse Sen. Tim Scott in 2024 Presidential Run
Hill: Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) plans to put his full endorsement behind Sen. Tim Scott’s (R-S.C.) bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, a source familiar confirmed to The Hill. As the No. 2 Senate Republican lawmaker, Thune is set to become the highest ranking congressional GOP leader to back Scott. Scott officially declared his candidacy on Friday, filing paperwork with the Federal Election Commission. Thune has been known to be a backer of Scott’s presidential aspirations, encouraging Scott to jump into the 2024 race earlier this year (Hill). Washington Examiner: Despite the crowded field, Scott has a significant cash-on-hand advantage, with $22 million in the bank. He has also already launched a $6 million TV advertising blitz that will run statewide in Iowa and New Hampshire, the first two GOP nominating contests, through the party’s first presidential debate in August. It’s an impressive show of force in a contest where money matters as much as polling (Washington Examiner).

President Biden Announces $250 Million Contribution to World Fund for Pandemic Preparation
Amazing how President Biden is so quick to dole out hundreds of millions of dollars to those who ask for it when we are in the midst of nearly defaulting on our debt. RNC Research: BIDEN: “The United States plans to contribute another $250 million to the pandemic fund at the World Bank” (Twitter). What is this pandemic fund? Reuters: The fund is one of a host of global initiatives being set up to help prevent a COVID-19 rerun, alongside a binding agreement being drafted by World Health Organization member states and plans to speed up vaccine manufacturing. The World Bank’s pandemic fund has raised around $1.6 billion in total so far, much less than the $10 billion annual funding gap for pandemic preparedness, as estimated by the WHO and the bank (Reuters).

California Reparations Commission Claims Slavery is Chief Reason for Black Hardship Within State
California was never a slave state. National Review: California’s reparations commission has determined that slavery, as opposed to disastrous policies advanced by the political establishment for decades, is the real reason for present-day black poverty in the state. In just a few weeks, the legislature that created the task force will take up the commission’s proposal, which calls for payments to black residents of upwards of $1.2 million. “We want to make sure that this is presented out in a way that does not reinforce the preoccupation with a dollar figure, which is the least important piece of this,” said Cheryl Grills, a task-force member and clinical psychologist in Los Angeles. What’s important, Grills and others say, is providing the public with an accurate record of slavery in California and then getting California to issue a formal apology for what the task force calls the state’s “perpetration of gross human rights violations and crimes against humanity on African slaves and their descendants” (National Review). Larry Elder: The California Reparations Commission Fails State History. “…there were white California officials — judges, police, and others — willing to enforce laws defending black Californians. Systematically ignoring this evidence is Orwellian…” (Twitter).

NAACP Announces Travel Advisory for Florida Claiming the State Attacks Civil Rights
Hill: The NAACP issued a formal travel advisory for Florida on Saturday, saying the state has become “hostile to Black Americans” under Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) leadership. “On a seeming quest to silence African-American voices, the Governor and the State of Florida have shown that African Americans are not welcome in the State of Florida,” the travel advisory reads. “Due to this sustained, blatant, relentless and systemic attack on democracy and civil rights, the NAACP hereby issues a travel advisory to African Americans, and other people of color regarding the hostility towards African Americans in Florida,” the group added (Hill). Charlie Kirk: The NAACP has issued a travel advisory, warning black people to avoid Florida. No, seriously (Twitter).

Nebraska State Senator Goes on Trans Tirade After State Voted to Protect Minors from Mutilation Surgery
Daily Wire: Nebraska state Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh (D) exploded during a session late this week after the state banned controversial transgender medical procedures for minors, shouting, “We need trans people!” The bill — which bans transgender procedures and limits the use of hormone therapy and puberty blockers for anyone under the age of 19 — was passed in the legislature 33-15 and was sent to Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen’s (R) desk to become law. Cavanaugh shouted a chant repeatedly, which apparently annoyed some lawmakers enough that they can be seen walking out of the room (Daily Wire). Oli London: Believe it or not this is an elected state government official in Nebraska. Senator Machaela Cavanaugh. Who elected her (Twitter)? Townhall: Republicans must stand firm on this issue because the public is on their side regarding ending the transanity overtaking the Democratic Party. No one is pushing for laws that discriminate against transgender Americans regarding access to housing, education, or job opportunities (Townhall).
