If you can,
I want to talk about how important it is to have access to mental health care. I don't want a Congressman making it harder on people's mental health. That's why I am supporting Dr. Bob Lorinser. When he asked me to work on his campaign, I told him, "You know I'm autistic, right? You're aware?"
He knows, and is eager for me to be a lead volunteer!
It says a lot about his character. I have something to contribute, and he knows that. That's the type of person we need fighting for our mental health access because he understands we bring something to the table.
Dr. Bob has always said that mental health is just as important as physical health. We need somebody like that in Washington fighting for us -- those of us who struggle. We need more help from the federal level. Bob Lorinser will fight for that. Having somebody be your voice, or amplify your voice; that's what I want in a Representative.
Mental healthcare is connected to politics. Our services are state and federally funded, and you must know who's fighting for you to get the care you need.
Our current congressman, Jack Bergman, voted against expanding rural broadband, which means less Internet access. Our mental health services are so limited that sometimes telehealth is the only way people who live off the beaten path can access a therapist, and the nearest therapist might be 100 miles away or 50 miles away.
Michigan's former GOP Senate leader tried to pass legislation making it impossible for Medicaid and Medicare recipients to receive mental healthcare. Very frustrating!
A lot of people don't think someone who is autistic, or ADHD or has depression has anything to contribute. And that's not true. We do have a lot to contribute, and Bob Lorinser sees that.
If you can, I hope you will support him. Send someone to Congress who values your mental health as much as your physical health. There are only a few people that do right now. If you have mental health issues, Dr. Bob Lorinser is fighting for you.
Can you please make a contribution today?
Thanks! Adios.
