Team,
Today marks the 104th anniversary of the House passing the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. But it wasn't until half a century later that Congress guaranteed the voting rights of Black, brown, and Indigenous Americans.
As we take the time to reflect on how far we've come, it's important we also recognize how much further we have to go. Since the Supreme Court's 2013 decision to gut the Voting Rights Act of 1965, we've seen relentless attacks on voting rights and our elections across the country.
Derek is fighting to pass federal legislation that will restore and expand the protections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. If you agree we need to defend the right to vote for all Americans, add your name.

Thanks to the sacrifice and dedication of generations of civil rights activists, our nation has made progress in the fight for women's equality and voting rights, too. But in 2023 alone, extreme lawmakers across the country have filed dozens of anti-voter, anti-democracy, and anti-American bills to make it harder for Americans to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
Let's be clear: Voter suppression of any kind is a threat to our democracy. And it disproportionately harms voters of color, seniors, and young people. It's imperative we defend voting rights for every American.
We can't let extreme politicians roll back voter protections and rights to further their own dangerous, self-serving agendas. On today's anniversary, add your name if you agree we need to protect and expand voting rights for every American.
