Friend,
My grandmother, my uncle and my mother all died of diabetes, so I am acutely aware of the need for insulin.
Republicans offer no relief at all, while Democrats are bragging that they achieved a $35 per month cap on insulin for people over 65.
Okay, let’s break that down. That would still be $420 a year, and half of America’s seniors live on less than $25,000 a year.
There are over 3 million insulin users over age 65, so if you multiply the 3 million by $420 that’s still a sweet profit for the pharmaceutical companies each year.
And there’s more.
There are another over 5 million Americans needing insulin who are UNDER 65. Many are rationing their insulin, choosing on any given month whether to buy their insulin or pay their rent.

In my 21st Century Economic Bill of Rights, everyone in America will be guaranteed the right to free universal healthcare, and no one will have to choose between their life saving medications and food for their family.
Will you donate $25 now to help me build the movement that can win the White House and deliver on this promise? [[link removed]]

Friend, this does not happen in countries where there is universal healthcare – which includes every advanced democracy except ours.
Even if Congress passed a universal cap of $35 on insulin for ALL patients, Americans would still be paying more than double the cost-per-patient in comparable economies.

What kind of “free market” leaves millions of people living their lives imprisoned behind the invisible walls of economic hardship?
Millions of Americans have been trained to expect too little, numbed by a chronic, gnawing state of low-grade need to simply accept what they are given. They receive so little, and deserve so much more.
That is why I support a Medicare For All type of universal healthcare.
These are the kinds of issues our campaign is bringing to the forefront, and why the DNC doesn’t want to hold debates. But this is the time to just keep pushing.
Please continue to help spread the word! Even a $5 contribution today will help us reach thousands of voters through grassroots organizing.
