Williams Weekly
Dear Texans,
Last week was another busy week in Washington, D.C. addressing your top concerns and the important issues facing our nation. Read below for an update on my work serving you.
National Police Week
Last week we celebrated National Police Week in honor of the brave men and women in blue who put their lives on the line to protect our communities and uphold law and order. Amidst skyrocketing violent crime across the country, it is more important than ever that we support our law enforcement officers. I will always stand for those who put their lives on the line to keep our families, children, and nation safe.
House Small Business Committee
The House Committee on Small Business held a second hearing to hear how the SBA’s 7(a) rule changes would impact the solvency of the program and the businesses that rely on it. We explored what would need to happen to keep the program operational if loan defaults were to drastically increase and the recent departure of former Associate Administrator Kelley and outstanding questions with the new 7(a) rule.
