104 years ago today, the House of Representatives passed the 19th Amendment, which led to granting American women suffrage. Still, racist voter suppression tactics barred millions of women and men from voting across the country for decades.

Generations of activists fought to perfect our nation's ideals and fully realize the rights bestowed by our founders. And the fight for our democracy and voting rights in America continues today.

And on today's anniversary, I want to hear from you:

In 2023 alone, legislators nationwide have introduced dozens of bills to restrict voting rights and access for millions — all in the name of voter security and fraud protection. Meanwhile, poll workers face increasing threats, politicians are running on platforms that include raising the voting age to 25, and Republican leaders continue to spread Trump's lies about the 2020 election.

Even Philadelphia, one of the cities that helped deliver President Biden his victory in 2020, was the subject of Trump's ludicrous accusations and unjustified attacks. It's never been about security or truth — just power and suppression of democracy.
