DEVELOPING — the EPA has just proposed new rules to limit carbon emissions from power plants. That means we have a real shot at reducing one of the country’s leading sources of carbon emissions.

This move has set off a fossil-fuel backlash in Washington, where polluting industries are going all-out to defeat the new protections. The coal industry has already come out hard against any limits.

The environmental movement needs to respond — and to do that, we need your help. Without us, polluters and their lobbyists could succeed in weakening or delaying new protections.

We’re campaigning for the EPA to adopt the strongest possible protections against pollution from fossil-fueled power plants — that means driving thousands of messages from environmental advocates before the deadline. Unchecked power plant emissions particularly harm low-wealth and communities of color, due to the shameful legacy of segregation. It’s long past time for the EPA to enforce limits on these harmful emissions, for the sake of our communities’ health and for our climate.
