John, if you expected Donald Trump's State of the Union speech this week to be divisive and full of lies and hate... you were right. Trump -- who Lee Zeldin has embraced as a member of his impeachment team and a campaign co-chair -- gave the most divisive, deceitful, and dangerous State of the Union of my lifetime.

In a 90-minute diatribe, Trump demonized immigrants, falsely claimed he would protect coverage for pre-existing conditions (his administration is supporting a federal lawsuit right now that would overturn the ACA), and called for restrictions on a woman's right to choose. Moreover, he awarded the nation’s highest civilian honor to one of the most hateful figures in American politics: Rush Limbaugh.

With Zeldin carrying water for this dishonest, corrupt, and extreme President, it's clear he isn't focused on Suffolk County. And Trump's speech failed to offer any solutions for the challenges our communities face: the cost of healthcare, college affordability, restoring SALT deductions, gun violence, and the effects of climate change.
