The FDA has failed, friend.

Their job is to protect Americans from harmful chemicals in food, but they’ve fallen woefully short. EWG has exposed dangerous chemicals in thousands of packaged foods, including:


* Potassium bromate, found in 130 products, including breads and tortillas, and linked to cancer.
* Titanium dioxide, found in over 3,000 products including Skittles, Starburst and Jell-O. Titanium dioxide can break DNA stands and cause chromosomal damage.
* Red Dye No. 3, found in over 2,000 packaged foods, including snack cakes, candy and bacon bits. Red No. 3 has been linked to cancer and damage to children’s brains!


That’s just the tip of the iceberg. While Europe has banned these chemicals and more from nearly all processed foods, the FDA hasn’t even reviewed the science since the 1970s in some cases.

But EWG is working to change that. We’ve co-sponsored a bill in California that would ban 5 toxic food additives. If California bans these additives, manufacturers will likely reformulate their products for the entire country! But big candy corporations are trying to kill this bill.
