Tell Congress:

Green American, Don't Let Congress Use Our Communities As A Bargaining Chip!

We are running out of time to avoid a complete economic catastrophe, but House Republicans are manufacturing a crisis as an excuse to harm people and the planet by imposing work requirements for government aid and removing environmental protections. Both of which would hurt our most vulnerable communities.

Lawmakers must act to protect the faith and credit of the United States and ensure the country honors its debts by raising the debt limit before June 1st  without proposed policies that harm communities.

Time is running out. Climate and social justice champions in the House and Senate must stand strong and reject the GOP’s manufactured "crisis" and work on solutions that protect people, not polluters.

The House GOP is making demands including dramatically gutting environmental laws in place to protect communities and mitigate the climate crisis. Plus they want to gut laws passed by the last Congress and President Biden to spur renewable energy and electrify our transportation sectors.  They also are demanding new work requirements for federal assistance programs, including food stamps, which will push people further into poverty.

Tell your members of Congress to reject any attempts to weaken existing environmental protection laws meant to protect communities, especially those most vulnerable to fossil fuel projects, and putting conditions on government aid that will increase poverty. And tell them to stand strong for our people and the planet.
