Whew!
We made it through another month of meetings! Do you have any idea how exhausting it is to host 19 meetings in 6 days??? I guess we just love what we do! You know it's the people that make it so awesome, right???
Of course, one of the highlights this month was launching our newest satellite. Everyone welcome the Katy Area to True Texas Project!
Daniel Miller from Texit was our keynote speaker, and he kept going on and on about being inspired by Art 1, Sect 2 of the Texas Constitution. So I read it. Now I get it!!! I actually read it multiple times, highlighted my favorite words, and emphasized what the pronouns meant. Check it out.
Now I'm hooked! We are meant to be self-governing, and it's all for our own benefit! Where in that section do you see anything about the creeps in Austin or DC getting to call the shots? We are doing this all wrong!
Thank you, Daniel Miller, for that education.

Don't forget to plan voting into your schedule! Many will be heading out of town for graduations, spring weddings, and family vacations just at the time we need to head back to the polls! Plan accordingly! Early voting for the Runoff Election is May 30-June 6, and Election Day is June 10. Get it on your calendar so you don't miss it!
The TTP website has a few recommendations in case you need input.

Legislative Update
Please check out Fran's lege update from Friday, but keep in mind, now that we are at the 11th hour, things are changing quickly. As bills are heard on the floor, amendments and changes are made so fast, a good bill is quickly ruined. We try to provide continuous action alerts and updated information on our Citizen Advocate Facebook chat group. Keep an eye on it for constantly changing conditions. A bit like the weather!
It's video of Speaker Dade Phelan completely wasted as he conducts business on the House floor. It's commonly known that the Texas Capitol is a bigger cesspool than DC.
