John, there’s been a lot of talk about Mitt Romney this week, but he’s not the only Senator who put the country above politics.

Senator Doug Jones is a Democrat in Alabama and he voted to convict Trump despite the political cost.

Alabama is a state Trump won with 62% of the vote in 2016. Doug narrowly won the special election in 2017 against accused pedophile Republican Roy Moore, but Roy is running again. And so is Jeff Sessions, the Senator Doug Jones replaced.

Republicans are already spending big money against Doug too. The Hill reports a dark money group aligned with Trump launched a seven-figure campaign, spending half a million dollars attacking Doug in just the last week.

But here’s the thing, Trump’s supporters don’t like Jeff Session anymore and Roy Moore is still an accused pedophile. And in 2017, even though Trump campaigned for Moore, Doug still won thanks to a groundswell of grassroots support nationwide.

We can do it again.

To win, Doug’s campaign must have the resources for organizing on the ground in Alabama, mobilizing the base, expanding the electorate, recruiting volunteers, and getting out the vote on Election Day, just like we did in 2017.
