John: Republicans in Congress are blatantly disregarding the Endangered Species Act.

This move is unprecedented, team.
The Endangered Species Act (ESA) has been a historically strong bipartisan law that’s been extremely popular with voters across the country. But now, Republicans are choosing to ignore their constituents so they can make a dangerous partisan point.
In the past three weeks, Republicans have voted to overturn protections for the northern long-eared bat and the lesser prairie chicken, as well as limiting the scope of what’s considered a species’ critical habitat. With each passing week, they find new ways to chip at the ESA.

This speaks to a really alarming trend we’re seeing in Congress right now: Republicans are willing to throw our endangered species (and the science calling for their protection) to the wayside so they can further their own anti-environment agenda.
Expanding protections for our critical habitats is essential to ensuring endangered species like the long-eared bat can survive and recover in the ecosystems they call home — and our SEEC Members are fighting back against these bad-faith rollbacks in Congress every day.
This is just the tip of the Republicans' anti-climate iceberg, John. They’re willing to strip even our most popular bipartisan environmental laws for the sake of a petty win in Congress, so we have to be ready to fight back.
