ACTION ALERT
Action Needed! Key Bills on Religious Freedom and Sex Education are running out of time!
After huge victories this week on Save Women’s Sports bill, SB 15 and the Ban on Childhood Gender Modification, there is still major work to be done before the end of the session and time is running out!
SB 559, a religious liberty bill that protects the sincerely held religious beliefs of attorneys and those seeking a law license has yet to be scheduled on the Texas House floor for a vote! The Texas House must pass SB 559. Not having this law in place could affect the 3,000 members of Christian Legal Society or even organizations that you care about that choose to legally represent people who have been attacked for their biblical beliefs on marriage and sexuality!
SB 163, the bill that will make human sexuality opt-in for all public school students in the state of Texas is also on the line. Last session, we were able to pass opt-in for human sexuality instruction for a sunset deadline to end next year in 2024. School districts complied by sending home permission slips asking parents if they could teach a child sex education. Even Austin ISD complied! BUT, if we do not pass SB 163 this session, the law will revert back to the old system of Opt-out and we would have to wait until the next session to try again. We must pass SB 163 this session!
