We sat down with Pastor Teresa to talk about No Menthol Sunday , an annual event organized by the Center for Black Health & Equity that brings together faith communities across the country to address the detrimental impact of tobacco — especially menthol cigarettes — on Black communities.

This year's No Menthol Sunday is tomorrow, May 21. Learn more and participate at NoMentholSunday.org.

Pastor Teresa’s work is focused on addressing tobacco-related health disparities faced by Black Americans and other marginalized communities through a faith-based lens. During the interview, she shared her knowledge of advocacy, organizing, the toll of tobacco use on Black Americans, and the role of faith leaders in the fight to eliminate menthol cigarettes and other flavored tobacco products.

"No Menthol Sunday gives us an opportunity across the country to stand together and lift voices that are meaningful and powerful in the fight to ban menthol cigarettes."

This interview is the latest installment of The Take Down: Unfiltered Conversations About Tobacco – part of our Campaign for the Culture , an initiative focused on uniting, empowering, educating and engaging people of color and other targeted communities around critical healthcare and human rights issues connected to tobacco use.
